About this opportunity

Ideation Lab is ICUBE UTM's program for people who have an idea and want to turn it into a venture, non-profit or product. Applications for the Fall 2026 cohort are open until 11:59pm on September 28, 2026. The published schedule starts with a full-day bootcamp on October 10 (design thinking, market research, measuring social impact) and continues with evening sessions through the term: branding (Oct 21), accounting (Oct 28), sales (Nov 4), a fundraising money panel (Nov 18) and how to pitch (Dec 2). Membership runs for one year, and completing the program qualifies you to compete in the Ideation Lab competition, where cash and in-kind prizes are distributed. ICUBE explicitly takes no equity. Current U of T students and staff join at no cost; alumni who graduated within the past 12 months are also free.

What you get

  • Multi-day bootcamp plus term-long workshops (branding, accounting, sales, fundraising, pitching)
  • Ongoing mentorship from experienced advisors
  • One-year incubator membership with no equity taken
  • 50% off up to 25 hours of creative studio services
  • Eligibility to compete in the Ideation Lab competition for cash and in-kind prizes
