NASA Space Apps Challenge Toronto 2026

About this opportunity

NASA Space Apps is NASA's annual global hackathon, and Toronto has its own in-person site for 2026: November 14–15 at the Bombardier Centre for Aerospace and Aviation, Centennial College Downsview Campus (65 Carl Hall Road, in a repurposed de Havilland aircraft facility at Downsview Park). Over two days, multidisciplinary teams — coders, scientists, designers, storytellers and makers — build software, hardware prototypes, data visualisations and creative work against challenges written by NASA subject-matter experts. Teams can have up to six people, and you register on the official NASA Space Apps site, then select Toronto as your local event. Submitting a project earns a participant certificate and makes you eligible for Global Judging. Challenge statements and NASA's datasets are released ahead of the weekend (October 28, 2026), so you can read up before you arrive.

Open to all skill levels and backgrounds — the challenge is designed for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers and makers. Teams may have up to six participants. Register on the official NASA Space Apps site and choose the Toronto local event.

Coming later: attendees who leave genuinely useful reviews will earn credits toward paid opportunities. Nothing is being awarded yet — reviews are unpaid and unverified for now.
