ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship (ESOP) — master's 2027

About this opportunity

The Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) funds outstanding students for the full length of an ETH Zurich master's programme. It covers living and study costs — CHF 13,500 per semester from autumn 2027 — plus a tuition fee waiver. You need to be in roughly the top 10% of your bachelor's programme, write your own pre-proposal for a master's thesis, and have two professors willing to send references. Interviews happen in February. The application window for a 2027 start is November 1–30, 2026. Current or former ETH master's students and people who already hold a master's are not eligible.

Who can take part

Bachelor's graduates in the top ~10% of their class applying to an ETH master's; not open to people who already hold a master's.
