Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP)

About this opportunity

FSWEP is the Government of Canada's main student hiring program. You apply once to the Ongoing Student Recruitment Inventory, and managers in more than 200 departments and agencies hire from it for full- and part-time roles. You must be a full-time student returning to studies next term; preference goes to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Some specialised summer 2027 inventories close soon — e.g. the Fishery Officer Student Program (Nov 15, 2026) and the Student Guide Program in France (Jan 4, 2027).

What you get

• One application, 200+ employers
• Paid student work
• Open all year

Who can take part

Full-time students returning to studies the next term; preference to Canadian citizens and PRs.

Eligibility is copied from the organizer's own published rules — they make the final call. Confirm on the official page before you apply.

Coming later: attendees who leave genuinely useful reviews will earn credits toward paid opportunities. Nothing is being awarded yet — reviews are unpaid and unverified for now.
