About this opportunity

Google Summer of Code pairs new open-source contributors with mentoring organizations for a summer coding project. Contributors apply with a project proposal to a participating organization, then code with a mentor through the summer. The 2027 timeline hasn't been published yet. For reference, 2026 contributor applications ran March 16–31, with accepted projects announced April 30 and coding starting May 25. Start exploring organizations and their idea lists early.
